I am a professor of Electrical Engineering in the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology (IF Sul-rio-grandense), located at the extreme south of Brazil. My research work is mainly focused on digital signal processing in communication and biomedical applications.
Most of the specific material for my classes is on Moodle (general link to the site.). Here you will find, however, as of 2025/2, some of the general information of the syllabus.
From 2020 to 2025 this site was pretty much abandoned as I moved to Moodle. It is back by student demand, but I am still updating things, so... when in doubt Moodle is up-to-date.
[Notice: I am still translating some of the material here, most of the subpages are portuguese only by now, I will indicate the ones in english in the link with a EN).
My lectures are mainly focused either on signal processing and its application or digital and embedded system design. When I joined my institution it was a Federal Center for Technological Education with actuation in the entirety of our state. CEFET-RS was a part of a Network of federal institutions (Federal Network of Technological Education) that was created to help Brazilian industrialization and was over a hundred years old.
Our engineering was created in 2007 as one of the first federal courses with night attendance to further this mission. It was the third federal course in the area in RS, after UFRGS and UFSM, and the first in the southern area of our state as a whole.
